The production house of super hit films ‘KrishnaVeni’, ‘Bhakta Kannappa’, ‘Amara Deepam’, ‘Bobbili Brahmanna’ and ‘Tandra Paparayudu’, Gopi Krishna Movies pvt ltd is making a comeback with the stylish extravaganza ‘Billa’.
Starring Prabhas, Anushka and Namitha in the lead, Krishnam Raju in a prominent role, Meher Ramesh had directed the film produced by Narendra and Prabodh.
Saving two songs, the shooting is complete and the makers have announced that the audio launch function will be held before the end of March.
In the recent press meet, director Ramesh said, “All along my career, I had the rare opportunity to direct the younger generation of popular superstars. I directed Puneeth Rajkumar in Kannada for my first and second film, who happens to be the son of Rajkumar. I did ‘Kanthir’ with Jr. NTR, grandson of NTR and now, I am working with Prabhas, son of Krishnam Raju for ‘Billa’ made on GopiKrishna Movies. I am fortunate to work with these people and do some big budget flicks.”
‘The stylish film is the story of a mafia don for which we have used the latest technology including a 35mm camera. The shooting has been carried out in captivating locations of Malyasia. Fast paced car chases and thrilling stunt scenes will be a treat for film lovers’.
“Prabhas’s look and body language has been done on par with audience’s expectations. With meticulous efforts, we have designed his costumes and style on-screen. Prabhas is the first star in the South to have worked out to shape an eight pack abs for this role. Anushka will rivet with her looks while Namitha will sheen in her part. Hansika’s special cameo in a song is just another thing to look out for. For the demanding role of a police officer, we have bought in Krishnam Raju and he had done his best,” concluded the maker
The audio of Billa starring Prabhas, Anushka, Namitha and Krishnam Raju in the lead roles was launched at Shilpa Kala Vedika, Hyderbad.
Meher Ramesh of Kantri fame is directing the film while Narendra and Prabodh are jointly producing the film under Gopi Krishna Movies Pvt. ltd banner. Manisharma is scoring the music for this film.
Dr. Dasari Narayana Rao, Krishnam Raju, Tammareddy Bharadwaja, Murali Mohan, SS Rajamouli, VV Vinayak, B Prasad, Devi Varaprasad, Dil Raju, Mansharama, Gopichand Allu Arjun, Namitha, Prabhas and others graced the function.
Dasari released the audio cassette and presented the first one to Krishnam Raju. Allu Arjun and Gopichand have jointly launched the Billa website. Lahari Music is distributing the audio into the market.
Speaking on the occasion Dasari said, “I had directed some of the films of Krishnam Raju’s Gopi Krishna movies banner. Prabhas is the capable heir of rebel star Krishnam Raju. I hope that the audio and the film will become a good hit”.
Krishna Raju said: “After a long gap of 15 years I am working in our banner. Director Meher Ramesh is helming the film in Hollywood style. Manisharma has composed excellent music. Soundar Rajan’s cinematography is an asset for this film. Prabhas has acted well. I wish the audio and the flick will be good hit like our previous movies”.
SS Rajamouli said, “The promos of Billa are seemed to be like a Hollywood film. Prabhas has built up 8 pack abs for this flick and will surpass Bollywood hero Hrithik Roshan also. I hope that the audio and the film will entertain the audiences”.
Actor Allu Arjun said: “Prabhas is my favorite hero among the ones from outside my family. He is like 6-feet of pure gold. I wish the flick will be a super hit”.
Hero Prabhas said: “I am acting with my uncle Krishnam Raju for the first time in the film. It was a difficult experience to work with him. All the unit members worked for this film with lots of passion and dedication. I would like to thank all of my fans for their continuous support. I hope that the movie will get the support of audience”.
The audio of Prabhas, Anushka starrer, Billa, is all set to hit the stands on the 18th of March. The movie also stars Namitha as the second lady. Krishnam Raju plays a prominent role.
Billa is being produced by Narendra and Pabhod under Gopi Krishna Movies. The production house is back on the job after a long hiatus. The movie is being directed by Meher Ramesh of 'Kantri' fame.
The audio is being released through Lahari, who are stepping back into the Telugu space after a long time.
The canning of the talkies is completed and the movie is now on it final schedule to film a song. A duet featuring Prabhas and Anushka is underway at a special set erected at Annapurna Studios.
Remade as Don starring SRK in Bollywood and Billa with Tamil superstar Ajith, the movie is a stylish saga of a mafia don.
The movie has been shot extensively in Malaysia and the producers have left nothing to chance. If the Telugu version is reflective of its Bollywood and Tamil counter parts, we are set to see on of the most stylish flicks in Telugu cinema so far.
The movie star cast also includes Jayashudha, Ali and Kelly Dorge.
Music is by Manisharma and lyrics by Ramajogaiah Sastry.
